A Master’s student in industrial engineering, Yosra works under the direction of Louis-Martin Rousseau and Nadia Lahrichi. Her interests focus on the application of tools for operational research in the healthcare sector and together with the team she studies the various issues related to excessive waiting lists in radiation therapy centers. The team’s goal is to increase the proportion of patients treated within the timeframe while developing a generic simulation software to model the flow of patients. This software is a decision support tool that assesses the impacts of changes to the process for clinic waiting times and on different policies related to appointment of decision rules, scheduling of patient accelerator treatment, assignment of patients to oncologists and timetabling of oncologists and physicists.
